Report from League of Nations World Cup Tournament




Ireland League of Nations hosted a very successful World Cup Tournament took place on Saturday 11th August at AUL grounds, Clonshaugh, Dublin 17. It was sponsored by Permanent TSB and Dublin Bus provided free transport to the event. Show Racism the Red Card contributed voluntarilty to the event and held a stall.

More than 100 kids playing 7 a side from the early time of 11:00 until 14:00 and they have enjoyed thoroughly.

20 adults teams participated in the tournaemnt from countries as far off as Mauritius and Mongolia as well as Brazil, Romania, Poland, Holland, Ireland and others.

The tournament lasted from 11:00 until 18:00 for the joy and delight of the hundreds of players participated.
The Winners were as follows:

The Plate Runners Up: English in Dublin 2
The Plate Winners: South Africa

The Cup Runners Up: Romstar
The Cup Winners: Poland B C

The Fair Play Competition: Sarmaci
The Player of the Tournament: Regis Almeida
