Cllr Denis O'Callaghan, Cathaoirleach of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council
formally launched UCD FC's Show Racism the Red Card Campaign on Thursday 13 September.
"Thousands of people are making Dun Laoghaire their new home. With
intercultural understanding we all stand to benefit from this," said
O'Callaghan. "It is highly apt that UCD is leading this initiative as it is
the leading football club in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown."
"Ireland is getting more multicultural all the time. Initiatives like this
at school level help because people growing up won't be afraid of other
races" said Joanne Cuddihy.
Kuncik, who originally hails from Romania, said multiculturalism aided Irish
sport. "Volleyball in Ireland is very multicultural. We count on people from other
countries to come and help us improve the sport".

UCD FC sign up to UEFA 10 point plan
UCD FC also used the occasion to launch its new kids jersey which features the Show Racism the Red Card logo. UCD Club Promotion Officer, Colin Forde said: "We're the first senior club in Europe to replace a sponsor's logo with an anti-racism message".
